    Tour Art Competition 2018 Exhibition

A selection of the shortlisted artworks for our Tour Art Competition

This year we challenged upcoming artists to design the cover of our Tour Programme Book on the theme of ‘Love and Money’ – a thread that runs through both La traviata and Cinderella.

All ten shortlisted artworks will be on display in the Art Gallery (located by the stalls entrance to the auditorium), and all are available to purchase.

You can see the shortlisted artworks in this online gallery.

Long Man of Wilmington, Tor Falcon

Our newly expanded Art Gallery (located by the Stalls entrance to the auditorium) features the work of ten artists this year, including local painters who take inspiration from Glyndebourne and the Sussex landscape.

Also on display will be a selection of photographs by Guy Gravett, who captured every Glyndebourne season from 1951 to 1996. His photographs document every aspect of the Festival, and offer a unique insight into our history.

All of the artworks in the gallery are available to purchase during your visit or from our online Shop, as are prints of Guy Gravett’s photography.

Visit the Circle level to learn more about the history of Glyndebourne Tour, which celebrates 50 years on the road in 2018.

Each of our display cases focuses on a different decade of the Tour, with fascinating insights and photographs from our archive.

    Sir Peter Hall: The Visionary

Visit the Organ Room to watch our special film, Peter Hall: The Visionary which pays tribute to our former Artistic Director who directed productions here between 1970 and 2005.

We will also be displaying photographs from Hall’s productions at Glyndebourne in the Upper, Circle and Foyer levels.
