Hera Hyesang Park performs arias from by Mozart and Charles Gounod in the historic Glyndebourne Organ Room.

In the latest of the Organ Room Sessions, Hera Hyesang Park performs arias from Così fan tutte and Roméo et Juliette.

Hera plays Despina in Festival 2021’s production of Così fan tutte. Here she performs ‘Una donna a quindici anni’ from the opera. For her second performance, Hera has chosen ‘Je veux vivre’ from Roméo et Juliette by Charles Gounod.

Hera is accompanied by Matthew Fletcher on piano.

About the performers

Hera Hyesang Park

The young South Korean soprano graduated from The Juilliard School with an Artist Diploma in Opera Studies after earning her Master’s degree there in 2015. She has worked with distinguished conductors including Donald Runnicles, Constantin Trinks and Cornelius Meister. A recipient of awards from the Gerda Lissner Foundation International Competition, the Montreal International Musical Competition and Plácido Domingo’s International Operalia Competition, she is also an alumnus of the Met’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program.

Matthew Fletcher

Matthew has worked as a répétiteur at Glyndebourne since 2012, on a huge variety of repertoire, from Handel and Mozart to Strauss, Janáček and several world premieres. He works extensively as an accompanist and chamber musician and performs at prestigious venues and festivals throughout the UK and Europe. Matthew has performed as a pianist and harpsichordist with the LPO, RPO and OAE and his competition successes include the accompanist prizes at Das Lied in 2019 and the 2014 Kathleen Ferrier Awards. He read music at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music, where he is now a vocal coach.
