Each year the Annual Fund raises money to improve aspects of the Glyndebourne experience. In 2020, we are continuing to raise money to upgrade and automate our backstage infrastructure.
Recent technology has generated a wealth of new opportunities to improve the technical processes on stage. Your support will help to carry out essential upgrades – from an automated fly system to move more demanding scenery, to a new way of synchronising the technical processes on stage.

*Please note that donations over £150 will be acknowledged in our Festival Programme Book and £1000+ will be invited to join our Ebert Room Club.
Your donation will help ensure that we can stay at the forefront of theatre technology to create
world-class opera in the most efficient, safe and effective way possible.
In 2019, donations to the Annual Fund helped contribute £426,000 towards this ambitious project. We are now moving into the design phase, and work on upgrading the systems will commence in November 2020, continuing over the next five years.
