Extra performance of Don Giovanni
Glyndebourne adds an extra performance of Don Giovanni in response to demand.
Glyndebourne is adding another performance of its eagerly anticipated new production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni to the schedule for Glyndebourne Festival 2023. The move is in response to high demand for tickets, also reflected in strong sales across the entire season.
The new performance is scheduled for Monday 10 July and many of the extra tickets will have special pricing for members of Glyndebourne’s Under 30s and Under 40s schemes. The free-to-join Under 30s programme has offered access to heavily subsidised tickets to those aged under 30 for more than a decade. Sign up here.

Tickets for the additional performance go on sale first to Glyndebourne Members and will be available to the public from 6.00pm on Tuesday 25 April. Under 30s will be able to purchase their subsidised tickets from Saturday 29 April.
Stephen Langridge, artistic director of Glyndebourne, said: ‘At a challenging time for the opera sector, it’s been a huge boost to see strong sales for our upcoming Festival. Our new production of Don Giovanni is proving particularly popular, having already sold over 99% of tickets, so we’re adding another performance to the schedule. On Saturday 29 April we’ll also be releasing hundreds of tickets at subsidised prices for under 30s, both for this extra performance of Don Giovanni, and for selected performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and L’elisir d’amore, ensuring the Festival is accessible to the next generation of opera fans.’

Glyndebourne’s first new Don Giovanni in over a decade will be directed by Mariame Clément. Applying her trademark playful humour, the production reminds us why Mozart’s darkest comedy still charms a twenty-first century audience. The opera will be conducted by rising star Evan Rogister, making his Glyndebourne Festival debut.
Glyndebourne Festival 2023 runs from 19 May – 27 August 2023. Along with Don Giovanni, the programme includes the Festival’s first-ever productions of Poulenc’s devastatingly powerful opera Dialogues des Carmélites and Handel’s dramatic oratorio Semele. Three revivals include Peter Hall’s magical staging of Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, John Cox’s 1975 production of Stravinsksy’s The Rake’s Progress, featuring iconic stage designs by David Hockney, and Annabel Arden’s colourful and sunny 2007 production of Donizetti’s great romantic comedy L’elisir d’amore.
