Our programme for 2025

THE VISUAL ARTS HAVE BEEN AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE GLYNDEBOURNE EXPERIENCE SINCE THE FESTIVAL’S INCEPTION.

Glyndebourne curates an ambitious year-round exhibitions programme of contemporary art that draws together art and music, alongside displays of unique archival material from the collection.

Oliver Messel: Designer. Maker. Influencer

This summer Festival 2025 tickets holders can discover the dazzling world of stage designer Oliver Messel (1904-1978) and his enduring legacy in our Festival exhibition programme.

In the downstairs Art Gallery, see original costumes, stage designs, photographs and props by Messel, including several never-before-seen models. Also on view are works by celebrated artist Pablo Bronstein, including his spectacular painting Opera Glasses, commissioned by Glyndebourne for this year’s Programme Book cover.

You can also head over to the Archive Gallery where artist and designer Luke Edward Hall has evocatively reimagined the world of Oliver Messel in a site-specific mural and series of original works on paper.
