Enjoy the splendour of vintage rail travel on board the luxurious Belmond British Pullman, sister train to the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Travel to
Glyndebourne in fully restored 1920s’ and 1930s’ train carriages and celebrate the occasion with superb fine dining and English sparkling wine.

Embark on this return journey to Glyndebourne aboard the Belmond British Pullman luxury train. Journey from London Victoria station directly to Lewes. Travel through scenic countryside in lovingly restored 1920s’ and 1930s’ vintage carriages – each with a unique story to tell. Guests will enjoy an exquisite three-course lunch before our performance of Fidelio on 7 August and a nightcap on the journey home. This is a one-off experience, with limited availability.

Fidelio 7 August, departing London Victoria around 11.00am and returning by midnight. £550 per person including a top-price ticket to the opera.

What is Belmond British Pullman?

Belmond British Pullman is a luxury UK day train that is taking guests to and from Glyndebourne on 7 August from its base at London Victoria Station. The train is made up of 1920s and 1930s vintage carriages.

What is included in the trip?

On this trip, guests will experience a three-course brunch on the way to the opera, top price tickets to the performance of Fidelio and a nightcap and light snack on the journey home.

How long will it take to get from London Victoria to Glyndebourne?

The journey will be between 2-3 hours.

Is dinner at the festival included in the ticket?

No, in keeping with the Glyndebourne experience, guests will be able to bring their own picnic or book one from Glyndebourne. For those who prefer the great indoors, there are also three on-site restaurants offering a range of dining options. Please note that all dining bookings (including picnics) must be made in advance at diningatglyndebourne.com.

What time does the train leave and return?

The timings are dictated by National Rail and are confirmed a month before departure. However, these should be roughly around 11.00am departure and arrive back in London Victoria Station at around midnight.

What does a light snack mean?

This will be a lovely cheese board and port.

How does the seating work on board?

You will be allocated seating on board in your group by Belmond British Pullman’s team.

What is the next step?

Once you have been allocated the train element of the journey. You will be contacted by Belmond directly who will send you a form to fill in with any dietary requirements and special requests.
