Mixing The Elixir of Love

How to make a refreshing cocktail inspired by Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore

Our resident mixologist James Tweedy shows soprano Nardus Williams how to make a cocktail inspired by Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore.

The combination of gin and Aperol represents the bittersweet love story at the heart of the opera. The orange notes symbolise the happiness and joy of characters.

This is one of a selection of refreshing cocktails James has created for Glyndebourne this year, which you can enjoy at our bar during your visit.

L’elisir d’amore is on stage at Glyndebourne until 9 July 2023
