Natalia Tanasii – Soprano

Moldovan soprano Natalia Tanasii made her professional debut at the age of 21 in the role of Countess / Le nozze di Figaro on the main stage of the Moldovan National Theatre. In 2014 she joined the young ensemble of Den Norske Opera and Ballet, where her roles included Micaëla / Carmen, Kate Pinkerton / Madama Butterfly and Annina / La traviata. In the same year she also made her UK debut at the Royal Festival Hall in a performance of Britten’s War Requiem with Marin Alsop.

She appears regularly in concert and is a dedicated recitalist in her native Moldova and has performed Nedda / I Pagliacci, Tatiana / Eugene Onegin and title role / Iolanta in Chisinau.

Natalia is the recipient of numerous prizes in national and international singing competitions and has been given a Presidential Grant (a national scholarship) and the National Award for Outstanding Achievement in Arts.

Natalia is a member of the 2016 Glyndebourne Festival chorus taking part in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and The Cunning Little Vixen. She will also sing the role of Chocholka and cover Vixen Sharp Ears.
