Who we are
Our orchestras and chorus
Our acclaimed resident orchestras and chorus keep us at the forefront of remarkable opera performance.
Glyndebourne is privileged to have two world-class resident orchestras, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, as well as the Glyndebourne Chorus, one of the pre-eminent choruses in international opera.
London Philharmonic Orchestra
Recognised as one of the finest orchestras on the international stage, the London Philharmonic Orchestra has been the resident symphony orchestra for Glyndebourne Festival since 1964.
Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment
Three decades ago, a group of inquisitive London musicians took a long, hard look at that curious institution we call the orchestra, and decided to start over from scratch. From this effort, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment was born.
Glyndebourne Tour Orchestra
The highly acclaimed Glyndebourne Tour Orchestra was formed in 1990 and is resident between September and October each year, before going out on the Tour.
The Glyndebourne Chorus
Glyndebourne takes great pride in the performances of the Glyndebourne Chorus, whose quality and commitment makes it one of international opera’s foremost choruses.
