Huw Montague Rendall – Baritone
Huw Montague Rendall is studying at the Royal College of Music with Russell Smythe, having previously studied with David Rendall and Philip Doghan. His operatic appearances include title role Le nozze di Figaro, Archibald Grosvenor / Patience, Aeneas / Dido and Aeneas, Dr Falke / Die Fledermaus and Bartley / Riders to the Sea (British Youth Opera),Orphée aux enfers (Opera Danube, St John’s Smith Square) and Death in Venice (Garsington Opera). Later this year he will join the International Opera Studio in Zürich with roles in Don Carlo, L’enfant et les sortilèges, L’heure espagnole and Lohengrin.
Huw has participated in master classes with Ann Murray, Sir John Tomlinson, Claire Rutter, Simon Keenlyside, Roger Vignoles, Susan Bullock and Sarah Connolly. He has performed in numerous concerts in the UK ranging from solo song recitals to sacred works by Brahms, Handel, Stainer, Fauré, Finzi and Vaughan Williams. He has also given a recital at the Oxford Lieder Festival and taken part in concerts featuring Haydn’s Missa in Angustiis and Missa Sancti Nicolai.
Huw is a member of the 2016 Glyndebourne Festival Chorus taking part in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Le nozze di Figaro and Béatrice et Bénédict. He will also sing the role of Fiorello / Il barbiere di Siviglia.
