Household Cleaner

We are looking for an experienced Household Cleaner to join the household team at the Manor House, a private family residence which all accommodates members of opera productions during our festival on the beautiful Glyndebourne Estate.

Working alongside the Housekeeper, you will help ensure the home is maintained to an exceptional standard, providing a clean, organised and welcoming environment for the family and their guests.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines high quality housekeeping with general household support.  No two days are exactly the same and flexibility, initiative and a positive approach are key.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the Manor House
• Cleaning and caring for bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms, kitchens, and other living spaces
• Supporting the preparation of guest rooms and entertaining areas
• Assisting with refreshments and hospitality for family gatherings and visitors
• Reporting maintenance issues and helping ensure the smooth day to day running of the household
• Being comfortable around dogs and happy to assist with their care when required
• Working with complete discretion and respect for the family’s privacy

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or domestic support
• Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in delivering high standards
• Is reliable, trustworthy and highly organised
• Can work independently while also being part of a close knit household team.
• Is flexible, proactiv and happy to support a variety of household tasks
• Is comfortable around dogs
• Understands the importance of confidentiality and professionalism within a private home

Experience working in a private household, hospitality or a similar high standard environment would be an advantage, although it is not essential.

What We Offer

This is a full-time, Permanent contract with normal working hours being Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with some weekend flexibility required for events.

Annual Salary of £23,132.20
