Digital Marketing Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Digital Marketing Officer to join our Communications team on a fixed-term contract.

Under the direction of the Digital Content Editor, your role will be to manage and support a range of marketing and content projects that further Glyndebourne’s audience-building and reputation-driving activities.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Website, content management and analysis
  • Effectively action website updates via the Content Management System, adhering to sign-off, proofing and testing processes, as well as Glyndebourne brand standards, visual styles and editorial voice.  
  • Work with external web agencies to coordinate delivery of front end (user experience) and back end (measurement/analysis) improvements, including testing and troubleshooting of bug fixes and new feature launches.
  • Build and maintain a prioritised backlog of content projects, working with partner teams as needed to understand requests and how they fit within the broader audience building and reputation driving activity. 
  • Proactively identify process improvements to streamline content requests and publishing and proofing processes.
  • Where directed by the Digital Content Editor, publish content on Glyndebourne’s social media channels, in line with sign-off and proofing processes and broader brand strategies
  • As directed by the Digital Content Editor, contribute creative ideas and feedback about Glyndebourne’s content strategies to shape future content. Draft and edit original website and social media content as needed.
  • Create & distribute regular updates on web traffic & usage, proactively monitoring analytical data and making content and editorial recommendations based on this where appropriate
  • Support external digital agency in the data analysis needs as they intersect website content, page setup/metadata or tracking/measurement.
Technical support
  • Provide basic development and styling for pages, to complement and improve on existing layouts. 
  • Proactively identify user experience issues on the website and other digital platforms, and work with team members and/or external developers to troubleshoot issues to successful resolution.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential
  • Proficient writing and proofreading ability, including ability to understand and emulate tone and house styles
  • Experience of photo cropping and resizing
  • Experience of writing for the web and editing websites using a CMS
  • Experience of writing for and posting on social media
  • Experience and understanding of SEO and UX
  • Ability to use and interpret analytical data tools and experience of using Google Analytics
  • Experience of working with web developers and ability to understand cost and quality tradeoffs and manage a backlog of user experience improvements 
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise a mixed workload and to work to tight deadlines
Desirable
  • Experience of using a CRM database
  • Experience using GA4
  • Experience with Google Developer Tools
  • Experience of using Adobe Photoshop (or similar)
  • Experience with the content needs of performing arts organisations including cast and creative listings, ticketing systems, membership and fundraising activity, and performing arts marketing processes

Hours of Work

The contractual hours of work are 35 per week however you may be required to work additional hours to meet the demands of the role.

We are open to applications from candidates looking to work part-time.

Salary and Benefits

We can offer a salary of £30,000 (£576.92 per week), pro rata.

We offer 33 days (6.6 weeks) holiday inclusive of bank holidays, per annum, pro rata.
