Christmas Concerts

For singers aged 9-13

An exciting opportunity for young singers aged 9–13 to be part of our magical Christmas Concerts and sing alongside the Glyndebourne Chorus and Glyndebourne Sinfonia this December.

Auditions for the Christmas Concerts 2024 have now closed. We had an overwhelming number of young people apply and whilst we are sorry that not everyone could take part, we are pleased to announce that we have recruited our biggest GYO Christmas Concert cohort so far of 35 young people from the local area.

Key Dates

  • Application Deadline: Monday 10 June 2024
  • Audition Workshop: Saturday 22 June 2024
  • Rehearsals: 3, 10, 17, 24 & 30 November 2024 (10.30pm – 1.00pm)
  • Final Rehearsals: Wednesday 4 & Friday 6 December 2024 (5.00pm – 8.00pm)
  • Performance Dates: Sunday 8, Thursday 12, Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 December 2024

Eligibility

  • Aged 9 – 13
  • Upper (unbroken) voices only: treble, soprano and alto
  • Live within 25 miles of Glyndebourne
  • Available for all of the rehearsal and performance dates
  • Have taken part in previous Glyndebourne Youth Opera activity – for example our free workshops
