In April 2021, we piloted a series on online Discover Opera workshops for our GYO participants. These workshops offered young people a chance to engage with the world of opera through movement, singing and languages and two talks with industry professionals.

The workshops were devised and delivered by:

  • Mary King Glyndebourne Vocal Talent Consultant
  • Nicole Tibbels French Language Coach
  • Karen Edwards Movement Coach
  • Sinead O’Neill Director

The Lunchtime Talks featured Mary King in Conversation with:

  • Karen Cargill
  • Joe Hookway
  • Yolanda Grant Thompson
  • Matthew Rose

“The workshop showed me opera in a different light almost so I would now love to explore it more” – 2021 Discover Opera Workshops: Singing in French with Nicole Tibbels

“I really enjoyed taking part in the workshop and will definitely get involved in future GYO events” – 2021 Discover Opera Workshops: Singing 101 with Mary King
