Introducing our Academy cohort for 2026
The Glyndebourne Academy aims to provide operatic development support to talented young singers who face challenges and barriers.
Whether this is due to personal circumstances, geographical or financial barriers or other challenging factors, Glyndebourne Academy offers a programme that provides 18 – 26
year-olds an opportunity to further their classical singing training.
We are delighted to announce the eight young singers that make up the 2026 Glyndebourne Academy cohort.

The singers taking part in this year’s programme are:
- Catherine Du Toit (22, London) – Soprano
- Thejal Sanjay Kengeri (19, London) – Soprano
- Abigail Rea (20, Lisburn, Northern Ireland) – Mezzo
- Zuzanna Jankowska (18, Bedford) – Mezzo
- Matthew Monaghan (21, Walsall, West Midlands) – Countertenor
- Guto Ifan Lewis (24, Llanon, Wales) – Tenor
- James Outtrim (21, London) – Bass Baritone
- Felix Shaw (19, London) – Bass
The Academy programme launched in July and this year’s cohort will have a summer residency in August, held at the University of Chichester, and a final residency here at Glyndebourne in October.
