Podcast: Cendrillon

Katie Derham explores Massenet's lavish opera Cendrillon

A tale that has been told and retold for centuries, blending love and longing with magic.

Every child learns the story of Cinderella, but fairy tales can be far more than just a bedtime story. In this Glyndebourne podcast, we explore Massenet’s Cendrillon, a lavish opera that entertains even as it unsettles.

Contributions come from Fiona Shaw, who directed Glyndebourne’s first production of the opera, conductor Duncan Ward and cultural historian Christopher Cook.
