Autumn Season 2026 announced

Opera, concerts and more

we are Delighted to announce the full programme for our Autumn Season 2026.

The season will start with revivals of two beloved comedies, fresh from Glyndebourne Festival 2025 – Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, and Rossini’s The Barber of Seville. There are concert performances of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet (fantasy overture) and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, plus the world premiere of Spark, a newly-commissioned youth opera by composer Lucy Armstrong with a libretto by Olivia Bell. The Autumn Season 2026 will close with the return of the ever-popular Christmas Concerts in December.

Stephen Langridge, Artistic Director of Glyndebourne, said: ‘Our Autumn Season has become a major part of the UK’s annual opera calendar, known as a place for discovering emerging talent and new work. It also offers new audiences a more informal and affordable way to experience opera at Glyndebourne, so I’m delighted that such a large proportion of this year’s audience were first-time bookers, and that we sold record-breaking numbers of concessionary and children’s tickets. I hope that many of those visitors will have been inspired to make a habit of opera and am confident that they will find plenty to entice them in next autumn’s exciting lineup.’

Suitable for a family audience, the new youth opera Spark continues Glyndebourne’s decades-long commitment to creating work with and for young people. It tells a tale of loss, friendship and finding the spark to keep going, and will include members of the Glyndebourne Youth Opera. It will be the first opera by composer Lucy Armstrong to be performed at Glyndebourne. Armstrong is currently a participant of Balancing the Score, a development programme to support the next generation of opera composers.

Glyndebourne’s 2026 Autumn Season runs from 14 October – 13 December 2026 with more than 35,000 tickets available and over 11,000 tickets under £50. Public booking will open in Spring 2026.
