Anne Trulove and her Rake
This etching has been made in response to Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress
The colour differentiation seen in Anne Trulove’s dress and Tom Rakewell’s clothing is quite a blatant indication of their characters. Anne, the eternal optimist, never loses faith in the redemption of love. Meanwhile the Rake, by turning away and looking at her house, has replaced his love interest with more acquisitive intention.
