Helping us to help you

When booking your tickets, please give the Box Office advance notice if:

  • You have access requirements (including the need to bring medication)
  • You require a reserved parking space close to the auditorium
  • You wish to borrow a wheelchair
  • You need to bring an assistance animal (particularly inside the auditorium) or if you need to leave an assistance animal outside

We have a team of Front of House Assistants to help make your visit as easy and enjoyable as possible. However, we would ask you to ensure a member of your party is able to provide you with assistance around the grounds if you require this.

We have one small central lift and a large glass lift recommended for wheelchair/mobility scooter users (Please note that wheelchair access to the auditorium is only available at Foyer Circle level).

Accessible toilets

Adapted lavatories are situated on the Blue and Red side at Foyer Circle level and next to the Middle & Over Wallop and Nether Wallop restaurants.

Access parking

Access parking is available and must be reserved with the Box Office. Our accessible parking spaces are at the foot of the main car park which is a short distance to the auditorium. We also have limited parking spaces available outside the auditorium which are strictly for Blue Badge holders who are also the driver of the vehicle.

Access from the Coach Park

If you are using our Coach Service from Lewes station you will arrive at our Coach Park. There is a path along the terrace leading up to the auditorium with 5 steps up to the Foyer area. We also have wheelchair access via our Organ Room which is signposted.

Hearing support

The auditorium is equipped with a sound enhancement system. Receivers may be borrowed from the Set Down Point office (located on the Red Side of the auditorium at Foyer Circle level).

Assistance animals

Assistance animals are welcome. Please contact the Box Office in advance if you need to bring an assistance animal (particularly inside the auditorium) or if you need to leave an assistance animal outside.

Restaurant access

All of our restaurants have wheelchair access. Mildmay restaurant is situated adjacent to the main customer car park with a small incline to the opera house. Therefore, this is the most accessible restaurant. Middle & Over Wallop and Nether Wallop restaurants are located on the opposite side of the opera house to the main car park and up a steep incline. There is a disabled toilet in or close to each restaurant. There is a wheelchair lift in Middle & Over Wallop (please be aware we can only accommodate standard manual wheelchairs on the lift with a maximum limit of 200kg)

If you require wheelchair assistance, especially to Middle & Over Wallop, please inform Leith’s when making your reservation.

Steps for each restaurant:

Mildmay – Majority of the restaurant is step free, excluding small areas of seating either side which have 2 steps.

Staircase leading to both Wallops restaurants – 9 steps (Nether Wallop is then on the flat level).

Middle & Over Wallop – 12 steps to first level, further 3 steps to second level and further 7 steps to top level (wheelchair lift accessible from top level to second level).
We are also able to assist with picnic carrying should you require this.
