Application Process
We encourage applicants to complete your CV and covering letter independently. However, for individuals with specific learning needs, family members and support workers are welcome to assist with the application. In your cover letter, try to outline how the work experience placement at Glyndebourne aligns with your career aspirations, if you have any. Please be honest and avoid exaggerating your experience, as we want to ensure that you gain the most value from the placement. If you are interested in multiple departments, please submit a separate application form for each.
After submitting your application, we will review it and shortlist candidates for interviews. If you are selected for an interview, we will contact you via email. The interview process typically involves meeting with two members of the department, providing an opportunity for both parties to learn more about each other and for you to ask any questions you may have.
Payment and Benefits
While the placement is unpaid, we will cover your travel expenses to and from Glyndebourne at the beginning and end of the placement (excluding daily travel costs). You will also receive a daily lunch voucher for use onsite and a weekly stipend to contribute towards your living expenses.
In addition to financial support, we offer a beautiful working environment and the opportunity to experience world-class opera performances, depending on the timing of your placement. For those without personal transportation, we provide a free minibus service to and from Lewes railway station.
