This event has now sold out. Tickets are still available for one of the other Prospect events at this year’s Festival:
Is Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia a feminist work? on Friday 14 August
On 20 August, a team of experts will discuss Handel’s Saul: Taking on the Bible?
Our panel includes: opera critic Alexandra Coghlan (chair), Handel biographer Jonathan Keates, Guardian columnist Giles Fraser and broadcaster Harriet Smith. They will grapple with the biblical elements of Saul and examine why and how an artist should take on the Bible.
Join us for the Prospect events as the UK’s leading voices examine the history and themes of Festival 2015’s most sought-after productions.
