This new interpretation of Purcell’s chamber opera from Glyndebourne Youth Opera is based on a story from Virgil’s Aeneid. The work has been reimagined as a restoration allegory by artistic director Mary King.
Mezzo soprano Kezia Bienek and baritone Nicholas Lester take the title roles, with chorus and soloists from Glyndebourne Youth Opera and young instrumentalists from the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Experience programme led by music director Howard Moody.

Tickets are available for £7 (or £5 for under-18s) to ticketholders for the day’s main stage performance.
