Voice: Baritone

Nationality: Belarusian

A leading exponent of the Verdi baritone repertoire, he won first prize at the 2002 International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition in St Petersburg and subsequently became a soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre, where he continues to give critically acclaimed performances. He won second prize at the 2006 International Elena Obraztsova Competition, first prize at the 2010 International Giacomo Lauri-Volpi Competition, and a Grammy Award Nomination for his recording of The Nose with Valery Gergiev in 2009. Taken from the Festival 2021 programme book.
