Details
Position: Conductor
Stephanie Childress is making her mark as a conductor of remarkable skill. Her musicianship and command of a broad scope of repertoire has led to engagements and positions with symphony orchestras, contemporary chamber groups and opera houses internationally. Shortly after taking second prize at the inaugural La Maestra conducting competition in 2020, she took up the position as Assistant Conductor for St Louis Symphony Orchestra and Musical Director for St Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. She has also made her name with orchestras including Orchestre de Paris, Barcelona Symphony, Paris Mozart Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier. In previous seasons she has made several exciting appearances with UK orchestras, including conducting debuts with London Symphony Orchestra, LPO, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
