Nationality: New Zealander

One of today’s foremost operatic tenors, he is a Fulbright Scholar and became Officer of New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours list. He performs at the Met, La Scala, Staatsoper Berlin, Vienna, DOB, Bayerische, Hamburg, ROH and the Salzburg and Bayreuth Festivals, under such celebrated conductors as Barenboim, Runnicles, Nagano, Levine, Luisi, Thielemann, Muti and Petrenko. His first Lieder recording, Distant Beloved, was recently released on Decca to critical acclaim. Taken from the Festival 2021 programme book.
