Nationality: Chinese
A graduate of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, The Juilliard School, Salzburg Young Artist Project and the Met’s Lindemann Young Artist Program, the bass-baritone won both main and song prizes at the 2007 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition and has since established himself as one of the finest voices of his generation. He has amassed an expansive operatic and concert repertoire and enjoys collaborative relationships with many pre-eminent conductors. He features on the recent Delos release, ‘A Lost World’ showcasing Schubert songs and duets, and he continues to promote the vocal treasures of his native Chinese heritage.
