Nationality: Portuguese
He started his voice studies with Cristina de Castro and made his debut as Masetto in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, his native town. A regular guest at the world’s greatest opera houses and festivals, he has collaborated with prestigious conductors including Claudio Abbado, Paolo Carignani, Riccardo Chailly, Michel Corboz, Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti. He has recorded Turandot with Zubin Mehta and Paisiello’s La Passione di Gesù Cristo for RTSI. Taken from the Festival 2022 programme book.
