One of today’s most sought after directors, he studied opera and theatre production at Paolo Grassi School of Dramatic Art in Milan and graduated in modern literature from the university in Venice, his home town. He has staged shows in celebrated theatres and musical institutions across the globe and his numerous prizes and awards include Laurence Olivier, Irish Times and Casta Diva awards, a Premio Abbiati prize, the Österreichischer Musiktheaterpreis, the Reumert Prize and a Melbourne Green Room award.
