Riverstone continues support for cover artists

We are very pleased to announce the continuation of our partnership with Riverstone in 2024.

We are very pleased to announce that Riverstone will continue to support our cover artists programme in 2024.

Riverstone – who offer the very best in London living to people over 65 – will continue to support the training of young singers at Glyndebourne through our established cover artists programme.

For each production, we contract a complete second cast, known as cover artists, to act as understudies. Cover artists receive a substantial five weeks of intensive rehearsals led by the production’s assistant director and assistant conductor who, like the singers, gain vital professional experience from the process. Rehearsals culminate in a showing at which the cover company performs the opera in full in front of Glyndebourne’s artistic administration department and an invited audience of opera industry professionals and agents. In 2024 the programme will support over 40 artists.

Riverstone is on a remarkable journey, to offer the very best in London living to people over 65. Find out more about Glyndebourne’s partnership with Riverstone.
