Danielle de Niese and Sir Bryn Terfel

A musical celebration

Join us for a special one-off performance.

We’re delighted that much-loved soprano Danielle de Niese and bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel are joining forces for a one-off performance celebrating Glyndebourne’s survival through a time of crisis

Throughout this specially curated evening, Danielle and Bryn will showcase their range of musical influences and styles, including operatic highlights and hits from classic musicals. They’ll be joined on stage by two of our Jerwood Young Artists and accompanied by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The evening will be conducted by Ben Glassberg, Music Director of the Glyndebourne Tour.

The evening will begin with the Overture from Die Fledermaus followed by highlights from Glyndebourne favourites including CarmenEugene Onegin, L’elisir d’amore and Porgy and Bess. After the interval Danielle and Bryn will perform a selection of traditional songs and Broadway hits.

As we continue to grapple with the impact of COVID-19, this unique event will remind us of the beauty of the human voice and the resilience of the human spirit. It’s a thank you to our audiences for your ongoing support, as we look towards the future.

As part of the celebrations we’re delighted that Nyetimber will be offering a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to every ticket holder during the interval.

Mildmay will be open for afternoon tea from 3.30pm. The performance will have a short interval of 20 minutes, and you can join us for supper afterwards in our restaurants. Middle & Over will be serving a menu designed by the Michelin-starred chefs Chris and Jeff Galvin, and Mildmay will offer traditional British cuisine.

Best seats in the house are available for £200 including a voluntary £50 donation towards Glyndebourne ongoing recovery from the pandemic.
