Our programme for 2025

THE VISUAL ARTS HAVE BEEN AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE GLYNDEBOURNE EXPERIENCE SINCE THE FESTIVAL’S INCEPTION.

Glyndebourne curates an ambitious year-round exhibitions programme of contemporary art that draws together art and music, alongside displays of unique archival material from the collection.

Oliver Messel: Designer. Maker. Influencer

As part of Glyndebourne’s Autumn Season, the exhibition Oliver Messel: Designer. Maker. Influencer, first unveiled at the start of Festival 2025, will be extended and reimagined with a renewed emphasis on Messel’s enduring impact on contemporary design.

In the downstairs Art Gallery, see original costumes, stage designs, photographs and props by Messel, including several never-before-seen models. Also on view are a series of costumes and designs created by 14 students from the MA Costume course at Wimbledon College of Arts, developed through a six-month collaboration between Glyndebourne and the University of the Arts London.
