Development & Events Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Development & Events Assistant to work within our busy Development Department. 

You will assist with the planning and delivery of a varied programme of donor & sponsorship events across the Glyndebourne Summer Festival. You will also support the development team with administration tasks relating to fundraising and donor stewardship, including database management. 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Support the Development Events Manager with the operational side of all sponsorship events. 
  • Provide hands-on support at events during the Glyndebourne Summer Festival; to include meet & greet and name taking. 
  • Guest list and invitation management; support internal processes to send and record invitations and manage attendance records on the CRM database following events.
  • Process VIP dining requests and handle general donor inquiries.
  • Assist the development department with other areas such as prospect research and database inputting. 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

Essential 
  • A ‘can do’ attitude 
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn 
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well within a team 
  • Attention to detail and accurate data inputting 
  • Good level working knowledge of MS Word, including mail merge and Excel 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work with absolute confidentiality 
Desirable 
  • Some experience or training in events 

Special Requirements

This position will involve frequent shift work (afternoon and evenings) and weekend working between May and August and some offsite work to support events outside Glyndebourne. 

Hours of Work 

The contractual hours of work are 35 hours per week with a one hour lunch break, however we would  be open to discuss part time work over 4 days a week. Due to the nature of this role you will be required to work evenings and weekends.

Rates of Pay & Benefits

This is an hourly paid position at the current National Living Wage. (£10.42 per hour)

We offer 5.6 weeks’ holiday inclusive of bank holidays per annum pro rata.
