Members’ Introduction to Festival 2020

Thursday 9 January 2020, 7.00pm – 9.00pm, Ham Yard Hotel (Soho), £25

Join us for an exclusive preview of our Festival 2020 programme. A drinks and canapé reception will be followed by a talk from opera expert Alexandra Coghlan, and a live performance of musical highlights.

This event explores the sounds and stories of Festival 2020, taking you from palaces to prisons, convents to royal courts. Sorceresses and devils rub shoulders with soldiers, quacks and even a bearded lady.

Priority booking is now open

The talk will cover all six operas on stage during Festival 2020:

Dialogues des Carmélites
Glyndebourne’s first ever staging of an extraordinary 20th-century tragedy.

L’elisir d’amore
Warmth and sparkling laughter highlights Donizetti’s greatest romantic comedy.

Seductive sorceress Alcina can conjure anything she wants – anything, except love.

Die Entführung aus dem Serail
Mozart’s East-meets-West comedy makes its first Festival return.

Beethoven’s only opera is a powerful musical manifesto for liberty and justice.

The Rake’s Progress
David Hockney’s iconic designs return to Glyndebourne for the first time in a decade.
