Songs to Share (East Sussex) – Free Music and Literacy CPD for Teachers
Sign up for this exciting free opportunity to work across the broader curriculum creating lyrics and music in the company of Howard Moody, a world-class composer and Carol Watts, Head of the School of English at the University of Sussex.
Following on from a successful partnership in the Spring term of 2017 the East Sussex Music Hub and Glyndebourne brings Songs to Share to teachers in East Sussex with a series of exciting workshops.
Who is it for?
Primary, secondary, trainee and peripatetic English and Music teachers are invited to come together to be creative, develop skills to use in the classroom, reflect and share good practice.
Workshop 1: Thursday 12 October, 4.30pm – 6.30pm at Crowhurst Village Hall, Forwood Lane, Battle TN33 9AJ
Bringing Sound to Life in the Classroom – exploring sound from the perspective of the two subject areas, combining expertise to create new work and increasing confidence in combining text and music.
Workshop 2: Thursday 16 November, 4.30pm – 6.30pm at Manor Primary School, Downsview Cres, Uckfield TN22 1UB
Enabling pupil voice to interpret themes in text and music, opening up creative writing through the broader curriculum.
Who will lead the sessions?
