Agreed Youth Orchestra

We are looking for local, young instrumentalists aged 14 – 25 to play in the orchestra pit at Glyndebourne for a brand new opera Agreed.
A new commission is receiving its world premiere at Glyndebourne in March 2019 featuring a cast of 80 local residents, 5 professional soloists, players from the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the OAE’s Ann and Peter Law Experience scheme.
The opera, composed by Howard Moody and directed by Simon Iorio, includes elements of classical, world and jazz music.
We are recruiting young instrumentalists to join the OAE in the pit who play the following instruments:
Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Trumpet or Percussion
Grade 8+ standard.
- 14 – 25 years of age
- Local – within 25 miles of Glyndebourne
- 3 – 5 minute piece of own choosing – with contrasting sections if possible
- Extract from Agreed (this will be provided after application)
- Sight reading – unprepared
Wednesday 3 October, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, Glyndebourne
Saturday 6 October, 10.00am – 3.00pm, Glyndebourne
Audition slots will be approximately 15 minutes. Further details and an audition slot will be provided after application.
There will be a chance to meet the chorus and orchestra at Glyndebourne for a rehearsal on Sunday 2 December, and then orchestra rehearsals commence in January 2019.
