On Off (2011)
Inspired by the wind turbine being built at Glyndebourne, On Off explores the idea of how we would cope with no electricity. On Off tracks the journey of our young people from their heavy reliance on electricity, through a power cut and blackout, building a new wind turbine and back to having electricity. It was performed as part of a double bill concert by Glyndebourne Youth Opera, alongside Hannah Conway’sWhen I am Old.
After its premiere at Glyndebourne, On Off was taken to the the Tete a Tete festival later that year.
