Kevin Martin, Head Gardener

In November this year, Kevin will have been working at Glyndebourne for 25 years. His favourite part of the job is when he gets to share his work with colleagues and audience members, he says that ‘seeing people enjoy what we do makes it special’.

Dave Turner, Head of Stage

Dave has been at Glyndebourne for 12 years. During his time here his favourite set to build has been from Hansel und Gretel, as the sets all used unusual construction techniques that came with unique building challenges.

Lucy Harris, Running Wardrobe Manager

Lucy enjoys ensuring that a designer’s vision is transposed to the stage, her favourite costume is Violetta’s dress from Act One in La traviata due to its beautiful silhouette and colour tone. In the 13 years total that Lucy has worked at Glyndebourne, her favourite opera is Billy Budd as the combination of set design, costumes and direction was incredibly moving.

Chorus members, Bethany, Matthew and Elizabeth

Mezzo-Soprano Bethany Horak-Hallett, Baritone Matthew Nuttall and Mezzo-Soprano Elizabeth Lynch have collectively performed at Glyndebourne in Vanessa, Pelléas et Mélisande, Giulio Cesare and Der Rosenkavalier this past Festival season. Matthew also joined the Glyndebourne Tour for La traviata and Cinderella (Cendrillon).

Pam Cockrum

On Pam’s first day at Glyndebourne 4 years ago she heard Carmen and it has remained her favourite opera ever since. Her favourite part of the job is enjoying the beautiful gardens and working with a great team. Pam’s favourite picnic spot is on the sunken garden overlooking the lake.

Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Paula, Joy and Annette

Theorbo player Paula Chateauneuf, Harpist Joy Smith and Violinist Annette Isserlis performed in Glyndebourne’s production of Saul during Festival 2018. They are members of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, one of our two resident orchestras.
