Glyndebourne

Each year our Tour kicks off with three weeks of performances at Glyndebourne.

The Glyndebourne Tour started in spring 1968. Fifty years later we are still proudly fulfilling Sir George Christie’s original vision and bringing world-class opera to audiences across the UK and providing a platform for emerging singers from across the globe at the very beginning of their careers.

The Tour starts with performances here at Glyndebourne before heading out on the road. With shorter intervals, and the opportunity to either dress up or dress down, the Tour has a slightly more relaxed feel to the Festival – except on stage, where the attention to detail doesn’t falter.
