In 1992 Sir George Christie set about raising £33 million in order to build the new Opera House, replacing the original which had been built in 1934. An astonishing 85% of this money was raised from businesses. The companies who provided money for the new Opera House are our Corporate Founder Members.
Corporate Founder Membership was only available in the period leading up to the construction of the new Opera House; however there are many more opportunities for corporate support at Glyndebourne.
