In 2010, Glyndebourne on Tour will present three spectacular productions, offering a variety of musical and theatrical styles to appeal to audiences of all ages.
Glyndebourne, renowned for its staging of Mozart operas, presents a new production of Mozart’s masterpiece Don Giovanni, conducted by Glyndebourne on Tour’s new musical director Jakub Hrusa. Rossini’s comedy La Cenerentola, vividly brought to life in Sir Peter Hall’s acclaimed production, is a retelling of Perrault’s classic fairy tale, Cinderella. The Tour is completed by Monteverdi’s last work, L’incoronazione di Poppea, which is set in a world of sensuality where passionate, forbidden love is victorious over goodness and virtue.
