Edward Kemp, dramaturg

Edward Kemp is a writer, director and dramaturg, whose work has been performed by major theatre, opera and ballet companies in the UK, on BBC radio and at international festivals. 

Recent writing includes 5/11, Six Pictures of Lee Miller and adaptations of The Master And Margarita and Nathan The Wise (all at Chichester).  Collaborations with choreographer Cathy Marston include scenarios for Ghosts (ROH2) and the forthcoming A Tale of Two Cities (Northern Ballet Theatre), both with music by Dave Maric, and the libretto for her collaboration with Stuart MacRae, Echo and Narcissus (ROH 2). 

Collaborations with composers include works by Sally Beamish, Victoria Borisova-Ollas, Jason Carr, Tansy Davies, Terry Davies, Agostin Fernandez, Alwynne Pritchard and Gary Yershon.  He has translated Brecht, Kleist, Molière and Racine and is writing a new play about Lawrence of Arabia.  He is Artistic Director of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
