Born in France, she received her training at the Studio Versailles Opera and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. Recently awarded the BBC Music Magazine Opera and Oratorio Award, alongside Natalie Dessay, she has conducted Rodelinda (GFO, GOT); Theodora (GOT); Giulio Cesare (GFO, Chicago Lyric Opera); Thésée (Champs-Elysées); Israel in Egypt (with the Concerto Köln at the Concertgebouw).
She regularly performs at opera houses and concert venues with her Baroque ensemble Le Concert d’Astrée, which she founded in 2000, and they have signed an exclusive recording contract with Virgin Classics. This has led to awards including the Choc du Monde de la Musique, the Disque du Mois d’Opéra International, and the 2005 Grammy Award nomination for Best Opera Production.
As a guest conductor, she regularly appears with the OAE, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, CBSO and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. Other recent engagements in Germany include concerts with the NDR Orchestra Hanover, Berlin Symphonie Orchester, and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. In the USA, she has conducted the St Paul Chamber Orchestra and the New World Symphony. Future engagements include Le nozze di Figaro, Orlando (Lille); Hippolyte et Aricie (Toulouse); Messiah (Frankfurt); Idomeneo, Guilio Cesare (Opéra National de Paris).
