She studied at the GSMD, the RNCM and NOS, and received the Brigitte Fassbaender Award and the Decca Kathleen Ferrier Prize.
Her roles include Sesto/La clemenza di Tito, Sesto/Giulio Cesare, Ruggiero/Alcina, the Composer/Ariadne auf Naxos, Cherubino/Le nozze di Figaro, Hänsel/Hänsel und Gretel, Prince Orlofsky/Die Fledermaus; Octavian/Der Rosenkavalier, the tile roles in Ariodante, The Rape of Lucretia, Orlando, L’incoronazione di Poppea and Carmen for opera companies including ROH, ENO, WNO, Scottish Opera, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, the Met and the Salzburg Festival.
In concert she has performed with the LSO, Hallé, OAE, RPO, Philharmonia, Concertgebouw, Rotterdam and New York Philharmonic Orchestras. She regularly appears in recital at Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw and Lincoln Centre, and is signed to EMI Classics.
Future plans include Idamante/Idomeneo (San Francisco); Charlotte/Werther (Frankfurt); Maffio Orsini/Lucrezia Borgia (Munich); Hänsel (ROH).
