Born in Russia, she graduated from the St Petersburg Conservatoire.

She made her professional stage debut as Fyodor/Boris Godunov (Maryinsky Theatre), and subsequent appearances as Olga, Cherubino/Le nozze di Figaro, Rosina/Il barbiere di Siviglia, the title role in La Cenerentola, Isabella/L’italiana in Algeri. She has performed with the Maryinsky Theatre at the ROH, the Met, and in Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands and Spain. Other roles include Dorabella/Così fan tutte, Melibea/Il viaggio a Reims, Clarina/La cambiale di matrimonio, Giustizia/Die Schuldigkeit des Ersten Gebots (Pesaro); Baba the Turk/The Rake’s Progress (Galicia, Bologna); Mother Superior/The Fiery Angel (La Monnaie), Fyodor (La Monnaie, Teatro Real Madrid).

Her concert repertoire includes works by Shostakovich, Pergolesi, Rossini, Haydn, Mozart, Handel, Vivaldi and Sarti. She has given solo recitals and concerts at the Châtelet, Concertgebouw and in St Petersburg, among others. Future engagements include Emilia/Otello (Pesaro); Blanche/The Gambler (Lyon); and a role in Armida (Berlin Komische Opera).
