Born in Slovakia, he studied at the Bratislava Conservatory.

Roles include Papageno/Die Zauberflöte, Moralès/Carmen (Prague State Opera); Silvio/Pagliacci, Schaunard/La bohème (Bratislava); the title role in Don Giovanni (St Gallen); Count Gil/Il segreto di Susanna (Montpellier); Don Juan, Convict/From the House of the Dead (Geneva, Vienna, Holland and Aix festivals). He has also appeared as Ferdinand/Betrothal in a Monastery, Count Almaviva/Le nozze di Figaro (Valencia); and in Eugene Onegin, Lucia di Lammermoor (Bratislava); Die drei Pintos (Wexford Festival); Alfonso und Estrella (Cagliari); Lohengrin (Santiago de Chile); Werther (Avignon); Madama Butterfly (Vienna Volksoper, Berlin Staatsoper, Santiago de Chile).

He has collaborated with conductors and stage directors such as Boulez, Chéreau, Kontarsky, Netopil,  Hickox, Harding, Belohlávek, Kout, Mikhail and Dmitri Jurowski, Valdes, Arrivabeni, Ronconi, Strosser, Kirchner and Pilavachi.

Future engagements include Sharpless/Madama Butterfly (Tokyo); Eugene Onegin (Moscow) and Convict, Don Juan (the Met, La Scala).
