Born in Billings, Montana, he studied at the Northern Arizona University and the Manhattan School of Music, and was a winner of the 2007 Richard Tucker Award.

His roles include Cavaradossi/Tosca (Seattle, Bordeaux); Don José (Vlaamse Opera); the title role in Candide (Naples); Turiddu/Cavalleria rusticana (NYCO, Dallas); Števa/Jenufa (Angers/Nantes); Macduff/Macbeth (Dallas); Levin/Anna Karenina (premiere, Florida, Saint Louis); Pinkerton/Madama Butterfly (NYCO, Stuttgart); Sergei/Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (Austin); the title role in Werther (Lille); the title role in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (La Scala); Bill/Flight (Boston); Essex/Gloriana (Saint Louis); Prince/Rusalka (Minnesota Opera).

Concerts include a New Year’s Eve Gala (Philadelphia Orchestra); Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (Bordeaux Aquitaine National Orchestra).
