Born in Scotland, he studied at Stirling University and the Drama Centre London. Opera productions include Albert Herring (GOT); Tosca (Opera Holland Park); Serse (Greek National Opera); Le nozze di Figaro, Two Widows, La Tragédie de Carmen, Doctor Miracle (De Nieuwe Opera Academie Amsterdam); Madama Butterfly, L’elisir d’amore (Opera on a Shoestring); Così fan tutte (Scottish Opera Go Round); A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Aldeburgh Festival); The Rape of Lucretia (Snape Maltings); Die Gärtnerin aus Liebe (RCM); The Duenna (RSAMD); Hugh the Drover (ETO). 

Theatre credits include Measure for Measure, Ghosts, Family Affair, Fitting for Ladies (Edinburgh Royal Lyceum Theatre); The White Bird Passes (Dundee Rep Theatre); Two Modern Noh Plays (Gate Notting Hill); Dorst’s Merlin (Arts Threshold); Ruth Ellis (Glasgow Citizens’ Theatre); Mrs Warren’s Profession (UK National Tour); Shamlet (King’s Head); Dad’s Army – The Lost Episodes (UK Tour). Forthcoming engagements include a spring revival of Dad’s Army - The Lost Episodes and a stage version of ’Allo ’Allo.
