Each year Glyndebourne produces an internationally famous opera festival in the Sussex countryside, along with a major UK tour.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to cover the corporate development manager role. We will consider applications from fundraisers wishing to carry out the role on a free lance basis.

You will manage existing corporate relationships, research and develop potential new members, sponsors and oversee the membership renewal process.

Job Title: Corporate Development Manager

Reports To: Head of Membership and Development

Direct Reports: none

Job Purpose

The Corporate Development Manager is responsible for raising funds within the Glyndebourne fundraising strategy from corporations by maintaining and developing existing corporate sponsors and members, as well as seeking new corporate relationships.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

  • To meet corporate fundraising targets for the Festival, Tour and general development projects.
  • To build a network of funding relationships including the development of new and existing relationships primarily through face-to-face meetings and to oversee the delivery of sponsorship and membership benefits.
  • To identify and research potential prospects.
  • To manage appropriate cultivation events for corporations.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

A strong track record of fundraising (Experience of securing contributions > £5,000 from corporations) Essential
A strong track record of developing new prospects Essential
Relationship building skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team Essential
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Essential
Experience of writing sponsorship proposals Desirable
Experience of planning and hosting events Desirable
Relevant Arts / not for profit background Desirable

Special Requirements

This position will involve frequent off site business meetings (usually London based) and some unsociable working hours entertaining during the Festival (May – August).

Salary and Benefits

We offer a salary dependant on experience in the region of £33,000 per annum pro rata. 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata inclusive of bank holidays. A defined contribution pension scheme after 3 months -employee contribution 5 % employer contribution 5%

We have excellent on site catering facilities, can offer a beautiful working environment, the opportunity to see world class opera and for those without their own transport we have a free minibus service to and from Lewes railway station.
