Visiting Glyndebourne

When our founder, John Christie, set up a professional opera house in the Sussex downs over 70 years ago he wanted to create something totally unique. Any visitor will agree that he succeeded in his mission, and today Glyndebourne retains his original ethos of striving to do "the best that can be done". The utterly distinctive atmosphere of Glyndebourne and the long evening interval makes the experience unforgettable.
