Verdi's last opera is a reworking of Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor. This new production for the 2010 Festival was directed by Richard Jones.
British baritone Christopher Purves is a corpulent but nimble-footed Falstaff with Canadian Contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux as the mischievous Mistress Quickly.
